ive only ever seen like 2 or 3 james somerton videos max and i forget what the first one or two i watched even were (something to do with disney i think?? but not the evil queens one im almost certain) but i have hated him ever since i watched the attack on titan video and he said something along the lines of "yeah this isnt an ALLEGORY bc the ghettos in the show arent literally identical to actual historical ghettos" and i was like what do you think an allegory IS

#its been a long time since i watched it bc it made me mad #im always curious to read and watch stuff about attack on titan bc i never watched it (i quit partway through s1 way back in 2013)#and i dont ever intend to watch it #but i want to hear multiple takes on it from ppl who HAVE seen it so i dont just take ppl saying its bad at face value #and i was intrigued by this one bc it mentioned media literacy in the title and i was like ah #perhaps this will be about how ppl defending it because the fascists are the bad guys is shortsighted actually and theres more too it than #that*#or at least generally might give more insight into the show #it did not. and if anyone lacked media literacy it was him #i forget exactly what was said but 'its not an allegory bc its not a literal representation' was essentially his conclusion #and that does not seem to be something pulled from any of the plagiarized articles #it looks more like hes taking the articles calling things allegorical and then saying 'well umm heres my original bit'#but maybe i missed something. im not willing to watch the video again. or the current version of it. to find out #ANYWAY #having a great time w the hbomb video but wouldve been super curious to see him dive more into that one specifically #bc i have a personal vendetta about it #r.txt
